Can A Colon Have Pockets
In Mexico there are few musical groups in which women play a dominant role, usually limited their participation to be a singer, showgirl or tambourine indispensable, but ultimately accounts do not go beyond interpreting someone else's compositions. Among the most famous example of women directly involved in all areas of creation and composition, we can mention Julieta Venegas and Natalia Lafourcade, but as it as a rock band only found one other case that goes around comes around and again refuge in the underground as Aurora and the Academy.
No matter what the case, it seems impossible (at least in Mexico) to dissociate the Rock of male to fall (forgive the redundant tautology) always in the same archetypes and stereotypes in the entire history of Rock. In which electric guitar, bass and drums are predominantly male, leaving the chorus, dancers, tambourine and the best acoustic guitar as the only scope for the feminine, where it seems that the only way a woman had of fame in the music world is moving away from the musical essence (Such is the case Shakira to achieve international fame that had to leave the guitar to become a Paulina any).
Nippon in the world (and fence in this sense it would seem that we are actually talking about another world) are proliferating musical groups or bands of rock formed by women.
In this regard I would emphasize the participation of the band Chatmonchy [-Chatomonchy-] (there are several examples and possibly more representative, but given the freedom that gives me to be the sole administrator of this space, let impartiality aside, to make mention of my group of "alternative-Japan-pop-rock favorite).
Banda consisted of 3 girls in Tokushima, Japan. Eriko Hashimoto (guitar and vocals), it was she who led the band in 2002 to play a duet with Akiko Fukuoka (bass).
